1. Zazzy Bands

If you’re a curly girl, you know that regular headbands can be soooo uncomfortable. This is especially true if you happen to have a larger head and/or very thick curly hair. The designers of Zazzy Bandz have created a headband that’s shaped just like sunglasses – more square than round.

Zazzy Bandz are one of the best hair accessories for curly girls.

Hands down, these are the most comfortable headband I’ve tried. They are affordable, durable, and will make you forget you’re even wearing a headband!

I have the Brown Zazzy Bandz, which blend well with my brunette hair. They also have other blending colors, translucent, or wrapped headbands.

You can check out their awesome headbands here.

*One thing I love about Zazzy Bandz is that every purchase helps support a Christian orphanage in Zimbabwe. They believe in giving back!

2. Satin scrunchies

My satin scrunchie is a DAILY must-have. I use it for casual ponytails for working out. And I almost always use my satin scrunchie for a pineapple to protect my curls at night. Satin scrunchies won’t damage delicate curls or cause frizz. They’re one of my favorite curly hair accessories!

3. Organza scrunchies

For 2022, these airy, delicate scrunchies are totally on point. The bigger, the better. Bonus points for embroidery! I can’t wait to try this trend soon.

4. Tiny jaw clips

The 90’s called – and they want their jaw clips back! No joke, though – tiny jaw clips are definitely a 2022 hair trend. They’re better than bobby pins because they won’t crimp your hair. You can use them on wet curls to direct your curls to behave (haha!).

One especially cute look is using a halo of butterfly jaw clips an inch or two back from your hairline. You can clip small sections and let your hair flow down your back. So pretty and feminine!

5. Fedoras

There’s something so charming about the contrast of a crisp fedora and bouncy curls and waves. Wide-brimmed fedoras are perfectly on trend for 2022. And they’re such a fun accessory for curly hair.

The first hat here is one that I bought for my sister (she loved it!)

Lisianthus Belt Buckle Fedora (pricey but great quality)

Lanzom Fedora (this one is a bit cheaper and comes in a ton of colors)

6. Puff Cuffs

For girls with big, bouncy curls (especially type 3-4 curls), Puff Cuffs are a must-have. They are like a banana clip but better. Instead of struggling to get a hair tie around your ponytail or bun, just open your PuffCuff, wrap it around your curls, and gently close it. Curly girls say that it looks good even with shrinkage. You can buy either clear or colored PuffCuffs in different sizes depending on your hair thickness.

7. Silk Scarves

Vintage girls used to tie on a silk scarf to protect their hair on windy car rides. Today, girls are donning them for a Grace Kelly-inspired aesthetic. If you love thrifting, keep an eye out for vintage silk scarves in your favorite shops.

Or, if you’d rather add to cart now, these are my favorite picks from Amazon. I won’t judge.

27.5″ Square Headscarf (lots of fun patterns!)

27″ Satin Headscarf or Bandana (has a pretty vintage floral pattern one)

8. Wide headbands

If you do wear regular headbands, try exploring some with jewels, pearls, beads, or braided details. They add interest, color, and sparkle to any look!

9. Stacks of hair clips

In 2022, stacks of clips are still very chic. Pearl clips, jeweled clips, big barrettes – absolutely! The general rule of thumb is that bigger is better. But you can also layer a few delicate barrettes or jewelled bobby pins.

*I like to use a pair of pearl barrettes over a simple half-up. Because my hair is thick, I make sure they’re pointing in opposite directions so the hair stays in place! You can also add a bobby pin that blends with your hair color for more stability.

Just put your hair into a simple ponytail or side braid and stack those hair clips on!
