Affordable A Line Skirt from Kosher Casual

girl wearing A line skirt, affordable A Line skirt, Kosher Casual skirt, Kosher Casual skirt review

If you were stranded on a desert island with only one skirt, what type of skirt would it be? For me, it would definitely be a knee-length A line skirt. They’re comfortable, easy to style, and flattering for all body types. Currently, one of my favourite A line skirts is a cotton spandex version from Kosher Casual. If you need another “basic” skirt in your wardrobe, you should check out this one!

Read on for my full review of the Kosher Casual Cotton Spandex Knee Length A Line Skirt.

I added leggings to this skirt for a little more length! #tallgirlprobs

First, what is an A line skirt?

Named after the letter A, an A line skirt has a fitted waist and a skirt that flares outward to a wider hem. Some A line skirts only flare out a little bit, while others flare out more dramatically.

A line skirts are universally flattering because, whether or not you have a tiny waist, this skirt will give the illusion of a tiny waist. Instead of hugging your hips, it skims nicely over them for a balanced silhouette.

What is the Kosher Casual A Line skirt made of?

This particular skirt (#1913) is made of 90% cotton and 10% spandex. It’s a lightweight fabric—perfect for wearing in the hot summer months! This material doesn’t wrinkle easily. Although it’s machine washable, I would recommend line-drying it to avoid shrinkage.

This A line skirt knee length has a wide, stretchy waistband made of the same cotton/spandex blend. It doesn’t fold over, but lies flat across the waist.

How long is this A line skirt?

It depends on the size. I bought the Small in both gray and black colours. The black skirt measures 22.5 inches from waist to hem and hits right above my knee. The gray skirt measures 24 inches from waist to hem and hits the middle of my kneecap. I’m 5’8” tall and wearing the skirt at my natural waist. (This skirt is designed as an A line skirt with a high waist.)

If you want a bit more length, just size up and wear the skirt at your hips.

For wearing around the house or dressing up a bit, I probably wouldn’t bother with leggings. But, if I am wearing this skirt to work out or play sports, I would add some leggings for more coverage.

With leggings, this is a great skirt for running or playing sports!

How can I style this A line skirt?

You can style this A line skirt for a casual outfit or a more dressy outfit. For these photos, I just wore the skirts with a blue Joe Fresh athletic top and my favourite polka dot sneakers.

For a casual + cute outfit, take a look at this adorable outfit. I love how my friend Elizabeth of Happily Elizabeth styled a black A-line skirt with a chambray blouse + dressy sandals.

If you wanted to dress up this skirt for church, just wear it with a nice blouse tucked in and heels. Because the material is high quality, it will look fantastic!

Do you have to wear a slip with this skirt?

No, because it’s a well-made, durable fabric with a nice thickness.
